Malaysia's first triathlon clinic and race specifically for kids. Distance is shorter, rules are easier but double the fun with kids doing the racing instead of mom and dad. Organized by seasoned triathletes for our future triathletes. Malaysian Triathlon starts here.

New Program for Kids and Parents

Dear Media, Sponsors, Participants, Parents and strong Supporters,

Thank you in advance for your continuous support in “Spreading the love for Triathlon”.

TriKidz aims is to introduce triathlon to the community at grass-root level. We believe Triathlon is a good and healthy sport and one that can be enjoyed by everyone regardless of age. We hope to create a Triathlon culture here in Malaysia by getting families involved. Parents must know the importance of having the kids to be healthy, go outdoors, be active and most importantly have fun.

We believe everybody must have been anxiously waiting for the TriKidz event this coming weekend on the 21st and 22nd March 2009 at the Sport Centre University of Malaya – Swimming Pool area. Thank you again to the venue sponsor.

As part of our educational effort, we would like to announce that we will make a different in the event. We would like to invite especially all parents or guardians to participate in an hour presentation/ discussion “Getting Acquaintance with Triathlon” session, conducted by an appointed and qualified speaker during the clinic on Saturday 21st March 2009. At the end of the session, among other things, parents will get the exposure about History of Triathlon, future of Triathlon (note, Youth 2010 Singapore Olympic), who is in Triathlon (organisation supporting and developing Triathlon), meals and nutrition, physiological, psychological and training aspects for children in Triathlon. The session will last with Q&A session. Best of all… It is free for all… The session is expected to commence at 10.00 a.m. (Tentative location will be at DK1 (Dewan Kuliah 1) which can accommodate around 200pax. So folks, book you diary!!!

On motivational part, there will be eight (previously five) categories to be contested. Category C (9 to 10), D (11 to 12) and E (13 to 15) will see boys and girls split category, to acknowledge the physiological differences. As usual, MILO finisher medals awaited all successful Triathlete at the finishing line to be given away by our very owned Miss Carmen Leong, the top Malaysian lady Ironman Langkawi. Top 5 podium finishers for each category will bring back extra goodies from sponsors. Let us wish the participants, best of luck…

In organising part, TriKidz event will be managed by the University Malaya Sport Centre students as part of their curricular, supervised by Dr. Nadhratul Wardah Salman and the TriKidz organising committee. Let’s wish them success in managing the event. The registration counter will be open at the Sports Centre administration building, Dewan Kuliah 3 (DK3) for goody bag and bibs collection starting Friday, 5:00p.m – 7:00p.m. Please bring along the signed (parents or guardians) indemnity form (attached) for registration. Otherwise, the hard-copy will be available at the registration counter. Kindly notes bibs were to be returned/ exchanged with the certificate of participations upon completing the race otherwise a MYR5 penalty will be imposed for missing bibs.
